When we talk about safety at work, we are referring to the measures, assessment and monitoring that must be taken in action in the workplace to protect workers health and integrity from risks.

There are two aspects to safety:

• prevention: avoiding or reducing to a minimum the exposure of workers to work-related risks.
• protection: with the aim of eliminating or reducing the possibility of accidents and professional diseases in order to ensure conditions of good health, safety and well-being for workers.
